Evening Journal Club

The residency sponsors evening journal club in the homes of faculty 4-5 times per year. Articles are drawn from Annals of Family Medicine journal club selections, with occasional forays into other sources as deemed helpful. The evening journal club augments the journal watch held during regular Thursday conferences, the combination of which is intended to develop residents' abilities to analyze the appropriateness of research design and statistical methods, obtainin information about diagnostic and therapeutic effectiveness, and apply evidence from pertinent clinical studies to patient care. The less formal setting of faculty homes also gives residents a glimpse of faculty mechanisms for balancing work and home life.
